Terms & Conditions
The ground rules for using ditdah — a free morse code tool and learning site. By using the site, you agree to these terms.
Last updated: October 16, 2026
1. The service
ditdah provides free morse code tools — including the translator, audio and image decoders, trainer, and quiz — plus free reference guides and charts. The service is provided "as is" and free of charge; no account or payment is ever required.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site. In particular, you agree not to:
- attack, probe, or attempt to disrupt the site or its hosting infrastructure;
- use automated scrapers or bots in a way that degrades performance for other visitors;
- submit harmful, unlawful, or abusive content through any part of the site;
- misrepresent the site or its tools as your own product, or imply an affiliation that does not exist.
3. Content accuracy & safety disclaimer
We work hard to keep our morse code charts, translations, and guides accurate, and every code pattern on the site is cross-checked against the International Morse standard. Even so, this is an educational reference — not a certified instrument. Do not rely on ditdah for safety-critical, emergency, aviation, maritime, or medical communication. If you are in danger, use your phone or local emergency services, not a web tool. Our SOS guide teaches the signal as a learning topic; it is not a substitute for proper emergency equipment or training.
4. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ditdah is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. The site may be unavailable at times due to maintenance, hosting issues, or updates.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ditdah and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the site, including any reliance on translations or reference content. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the site.
6. Intellectual property
The text, guides, charts, and design of ditdah are our original work. You are welcome to use the tools and share links to our pages freely. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back. Republishing entire articles, charts, or tool interfaces on another site — or selling them — is not permitted without written permission.
7. External links
We occasionally link to third-party resources (such as app stores or reference sites). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability.
8. Privacy
How we handle data — short answer: we collect none — is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site evolves; the "last updated" date above will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
